What if I Do Nothing?
Many people choose to ignore minor dental problems because it seems like a financially friendly decision, but in truth, this approach always ends up costing a patient much more in the long run. Minor cavities will inevitably turn into major ones, and small cracks will turn into broken teeth. Your teeth can’t heal themselves, so only by addressing problems early can you prevent further issues and save yourself from needing an expensive treatment down the road.
Dental crowns are designed to restore a decayed or otherwise damaged tooth. They can be made from a variety of materials, including gold, but the most natural-looking crowns are ones made from ceramic. With your crown in place, the tooth underneath will enjoy advanced protection while the restoration covering it will allow you to smile with confidence and enjoy a more balanced and nutritious diet. Dental crowns can last for years when cared for properly with routine brushing and flossing.
In most cases, a full crown procedure can be completed in two visits. During the first visit, Dr. Caballeros will take an impression of your tooth and prepare it. Then, a temporary crown will be placed over your tooth to protect it until your permanent crown is ready. On your second appointment, we’ll remove your temporary and permanently attach your custom-made restoration.
Over 90% of the population will develop a cavity at one point in their lives, and while prevention is always our top priority, fixing decayed teeth is nice and easy here at On Point Dentistry. Instead of a traditional gray filling, we can replace any damaged enamel with a color-matched composite resin designed to blend with the surrounding tooth. The end result is a restoration that looks just like natural dental structure and doesn’t affect the look of the smile.
Have you not been to the dentist for a very long time, so you’ve developed multiple decayed, chipped, and missing teeth? Or have you recently been in an accident where several of your teeth were damaged? Whatever the case may be, know that it’s not too late to get a strong and healthy smile again. Working with Dr. Caballeros, he can put together a plan consisting of multiple procedures that will address all of your problems at the same time, completely renewing your smile over the course of a few appointments.
