Get to Know Carlos Parra, DDS

Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, Dr. Parra graduated from dental school in 2009 from Universitat Internacional de Catalunya. Later, he completed a one-year clinical residency in Periodontology. He also served as a pre-doctoral clinical instructor at UIC. During that period, he was involved in research relating to Oropharyngeal Dysphagia and oral hygiene. He practiced in Barcelona for three years before deciding to move to Boston and achieving his Certificate in Periodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston.

What Kinds of Dental Accolades Do You Have?
Since November of 2015, Dr. Parra has been a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics at Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas. In September of 2016, during the 102nd annual meeting of the American Academy of Periodontology, he received the Leslie M. Salkin Award for the highest scoring candidate of the American Board of Periodontology oral examination. He’s also lectured nationally and internationally in the field of Periodontics.
